Enviro-Cup is the solution to significantly reducing single use plastic at thousands of events that take place in the UK every year.
Events and festivals produce hundreds of millions of tons of plastic every year, most of which cannot be recycled. It’s obvious that humans need to use less plastic, and move towards environmentally sustainable products and services.
Designed and manufactured by APS Metal Pressings Ltd in Birmingham, UK, from Recycled Food Grade 304L Stainless Steel, the Enviro-Cup is a stylish satin finished alternative to the thin walled single-use plastic cups that are currently in use. Enviro-Cup is incredibly lightweight, weighing a mere 115g when empty. It can be branded and is 100% safe with no sharp edges. It’s tough, durable and easy to clean.
Enviro-Cup has been designed for a long life and since stainless steel recycles forever, is it sustainable. Stainless steel is one of the most environmentally efficient raw materials available and is quickly becoming the hygienic and user friendly alternative for the drinks and festival catering industries.
In 2018, Enviro-Cup has been used at over 40 Festivals across the UK, Norway, Canada – the average supply to Festivals has been circa 500 Cups per event – totaling just over 21,000 Cups. On the assumption that the Cup is re-used an average of 5 times each, the festivals have used over 100,000 fewer plastic cups – this equates to saving over 2,000kgs of material from going to landfill.
Enviro-Cup solution process is as follows:
- Customers pay a deposit when buying their first drink,
- At the end of the event, they either return and receive their deposit or take Enviro-Cup home as a souvenir to be used again and again.
At the end of its life, Enviro-Cup is fully recyclable ready to start again.
Enviro-Cup has been shortlisted in the Best Eco Products 2018 category for “The Ultimate Solution to Reduce the Use of Plastic Drinking Cups”.
