Ecoware is India’s first and largest sustainable packaging company founded on the principle of regenerative design.
It converts common agricultural waste that would otherwise be burnt into affordable disposables for food services and medical care. Ecoware is a biodegradable alternative to single-use plastic thereby contributing lasting societal and environmental impact.
With increasing consumerism, fast-growing economies such as India suffer from the most visible faces of pollution – poor air and plastic blight.
Ecoware employs indigenously designed solutions to solve both these problems at scale. By using only the waste of crops, Ecoware incentivizes farmers not to burn and smartly converts cellulosic plant fibre into strong packaging that is oil & water and heat & cold resistant.
Ecoware boasts of a range of 26 products including tableware, cutlery and food packaging. All items are natural and biodegradable in 90 days.
Ecoware is the only USDA certified bio-based manufacturer in India. They are PFAS free and audited on ESG parameters.
At current scale Ecoware saves 1,200 tons of plastic annually from entering India’s landfills and since inception has offset 16,800 tons of CO2 emissions through displacement of non-eco friendly alternatives. At a societal level, Ecoware contributes to improved economic resilience and reduced health risks from decreased usage of toxic plastics.
Ecoware has won multiple awards including Walmart Sustainable Vendor of the Year (2012), India Design Mark (2018) and the World Economic Forum Circular Awards (2019).
The company currently ships to India, Sri Lanka, Kuwait, Peru, South Africa, France, Ecuador and Kenya.
