Michihiko Iwamoto graduated from Kitakyushu City University, and started his career in a textile trading company. He started taking an active interest in fibre recycling technology in 1995, with the enactment of the Containers and Packaging Recycling Law. In January 2007, he established Japan Environmental Design with Masaki Takao, President and CEO of Hyundai.
A graduate from the Tennoji High School, attached with Osaka University of Education, Masaki later joined the Faculty of Engineering (Chemical Engineering) of Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2000. He has majored in Technology Management from the University of Tokyo in 2004. He has been a part-time lecturer at Waseda University since 2013.
