Biogreen was founded by a group of environmental entrepreneurs, looking for quality solutions to the problem of petroleum based plastic products. Biogreen was born with its mission to replace all disposable plastics with high quality, innovative bioplastics.
According to a report by the Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change of India, more than 15,000 tonnes of plastic waste was generated in India every day in 2015, of which 6,000 tonnes remain uncollected and littered; resulting into death of one million sea birds and 100,000 marine mammals annually from plastic in the oceans, therefore coming up with a product which would not harm the environment and would also be a perfect alternative of plastic bag will result in reducing this problem.
Biogreen provides compostable/biodegradable products which is the best substitute to plastic grocery, carry bags and everyday single use products. These products are made from natural starch, vegetable oil derivatives and vegetable waste which in turn eventually gets rid of tonnes of municipal waste that ends up in a landfill otherwise. They are non-toxic to the environment, animals and plants and it does not contain any conventional plastics.
BioGreen plastic bags decomposes itself in less than 160 days and provide excellent manure for improving the quality of the agricultural lands and thereby reducing the usage of heavyweight chemical fertilizers.
Biogreen uses raw materials that are collected and converted to pellets which are then processed into thin films so they can be moulded into bags. Their products include the Bio bags, Grocery bag rolls, Garbage bags, Film and laminate rolls, Bio-Tableware, Arecaware and Bio water bottle.
Biogreen aims to replace all disposable plastics with high quality, innovative products that lower their dependence on oil and lower our carbon footprint. Biogreen is moving forward with an aim to replace at least 50% of plastic products available in the market by the year 2020.
