Anhui Oursun is a China-based company making machines that chemically convert plastic waste into fuel oil.
Less than half of all plastic waste is recycled, partly because the end-products are not valuable enough. There is a growing market to convert plastic waste into fuel oils.
Anhui Oursun’s machines process plastic waste using pyrolysis technology in a catalytic cracking reactor. The process cuts down polymer chains of plastics into low molecular fuel hydrocarbons. The process is carried out in atmospheric conditions with no need for additional pressure.
The system uses a special catalyst using proprietary technology to improve the quality of the oil. It uses the company’s patented constant-temperature slagging device to avoid dangerous leaks, and patented batch-type mixer to solve gumming problems. The machine can run continuously.
It has a capacity of 10 tons to 500 tons per day and 50% to 90% of the waste converts into oil, depending on the nature of the waste. The unit accepts Polyethylene, Polypropylene and Polystyrene plastics.
The output oils include diesel suitable for use in forklift, trucks, generators, and gasoline that can be used directly in generators or in automobiles after blending 1:1 with high octane gasoline.
Combustible gas generated during the pyrolysis process is recovered using a patented technology and used as heating fuel for the device. This saves $60 in energy costs for every ton of plastic waste processed in the system.
Water generated in the process is condensed and reused. Carbon residue is collected to be used as carbon black for sale or use in combustion.
The company’s technology has been listed in the Directory of Advanced and Appropriate Technology for Regenerated Resource Utilization of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China.
