Mondelēz India partnered with Ubuntoo to develop a comprehensive solution for recycling Multi-Layered Plastics (MLP) waste. Ubuntoo conducted an extensive search, identifying HasiruDala and TrashCon as key solution partners for waste collection, sorting, and upcycling/recycling. The project encompassed solution search, ideation, business case development, contract facilitation, schedule management, and execution, aligned with Mondelēz’s vision for recyclable and zero net waste packaging in India. The project is now operating at full capacity, with Hasiru Dala receiving orders for a year of production, exceeding their operating costs. This impactful initiative is expected to recover and repurpose over 500 tons of MLP annually, setting a precedent for future endeavors.
